Montgomery HS Match Play - Bentwater CC - Miller Course Oct 22+23, 2021

The Girls Top Team wins the Montgomery Match Play!!

The team effort had every player step up and provide valuable team support..

Fridays play of 36 holes saw Sofia Bastidas fire a nice 74 during round 1, while Tate Hutcheson lifted the team up with an impressive 1 under par 71 during round 2.

The Team claimed 1st place during the stroke play portion of the event and played 6 individual matches on Saturday for vs College Park for the championship.

Leena Stephens played fantastic during the match play portion firing a 4 under par for the 13 holes played....defeating her opponent 7+5.

Charlotte Stick also played lights out in her match being 2 under for her 13 hols played, also winning 7+5.

Veronika Exposito played well to claim a 3+2 victory and Sofia Bastidas earned a 2 up win.

The match of the day may have been Freshmen Tate Hutcheson falling 5 down to one of the state's best players. Tate began chipping away at the lead showing the heart of a competitor that all the girls show. She never gave up and continued applying pressure. That pressure was finally relieved when her putt on the final hole of play resulted in a well earned 1/2 point in her match.

Fantastic team win 4.5 to 1.5

Well done Girls!!!
